DESCRIPTION:  \n🎣 Kid’s Fishing Rodeo is this Saturday\, May 11th starting at 9 am. Located off Cove Road at S Curves in Jasper\, GA. \nFREE T-shirts while supplies last & 🌭 FREE lunch! \nThis event is to teach kids the sport of trout fishing by letting them\, not their parents or another adult\, fish and enjoy themselves. Limit 8 trout per fisherman. No licenses required. \nPlease note this event is for children 15 and under! You will need to bring your own fishing tackle and bait. The event starts at 9 am\, no fishing will be permitted until after the announcements made by the Pickens Sportsman’s Club (who hosts this event). Lots of folks like to show up at the crack of dawn and get stuck waiting a couple of hours to actually be able to fish. The river will be open to all anglers of all ages after the event (approximately 2 pm) however you must have a valid GA fishing license and trout stamp to fish after the event. You can buy a fishing license online. DNR officer will be on site checking licenses. Limit of 8 fish per angler per day as per GA state regulations.

DESCRIPTION:Kids and kids at heart will enjoy this special day of art and discovery at the Project Chimps sanctuary for former research chimpanzees\, located in the mountains of north Georgia! \nEach guest will receive a rock to paint and while it dries\, will take a guided walking tour of the sanctuary and learn about the lives of the chimps! \nAfter the 30-45 minute\, small-group tour\, you can add a message of conservation\, inspiration\, or motivation to your rock\, then take the rock home or exchange it for another in the new Project Chimps Kindness Rocks Garden. \nTickets are $10 per child and one adult chaperone. Additional adult tickets are available for $25. \nProject Chimps is a 236-acre sanctuary for chimpanzees retired from medical research. Today\, 59 chimpanzees call the sanctuary home. Project Chimps is privately funded and proceeds from event ticket sales and donations help provide food\, care and enrichment for the chimpanzees. \nThe event will be held rain or shine and Project Chimps cannot guarantee everyone will see a chimpanzee\, but the chances are very good!

DESCRIPTION:Change the way your child thinks about food! \nWe will have a craft\, “mini workshops” about honey bees\, soil conservation\, gardening and MORE! PLUS\, kids will be planting in our “Children’s Garden” AND get a seed to take home to watch grow! \nThe GA Mobile Dairy Classroom will be at the farm from 12pm-2pm. The 30 ft Mobile Dairy Classroom features a fully operational milking parlor containing a live cow used for milking and feeding demonstrations. \nThere will still be plenty of time for a “hey”ride to feed the cows\, visiting with the animals in the petting zoo\, and playing in the fun park! \nFun Park will be open from 10:00-5:00 and planting in the garden will be at 11:00\, 1:00\, and 3:30. \nFarmer for Day activities are FREE with Fun Park Admission which is $9 kids and $5 adults.
