Initial Goals and Action Plan

INITIAL GOALS:

  1. Establish a permanent Young Families Committee (“YFC”) under the POA
  2. Build and maintain an updated database & contact list of YF to be used in weighing head count for various age related activities. This should include breakdowns and inclusion for a) permanent resident YF’s; b) long-term rental resident YF’s;  c) weekender part-time property owner YF’s; and;  d) visiting young family members of property owners.
  3. Promote POA funding and support for projects that serve Young Families (“YF”) in Big Canoe, GA.
  4. Develop and promote ideas that have the support of YF, including development of a Young Family Voting Block (“YFVB”).
  5. Maintain this website (www.BigCanoe.life) for YF to use in communications, resource lists, calendars, and events scheduling.
  6. Promote the development of a Homeschool Support Network & Resources, including support for any Private or Enrichment schools in the area.
  7. Expand and promote all the positive aspects of YF life in Big Canoe, GA in an attempt to increase YF head count in the community, thereby strengthening our position in the community and broadening opportunity for YF’s.
  8. Expand Opportunities for the children of part-time property owners, and visiting grandchildren.

INITIAL ACTION PLAN:

  • Activate Initial Website & Facebook Group. √
  • Develop Initial Census/Poll to get more accurate data on Big Canoe Kids. √
  • Develop Initial Events Calendar √
  • Distribute Initial Census/Poll √
  • Develop YF Network, Marketing & Awareness Campaign (in progress)
  • Develop Advanced Web Content (in progress)
